We started Container Plans™ as a handful of architects, engineers, and designers who worked for a few different shipping container modification companies and noticed a gap in what our industry offers.

After we’ve designed and built hundreds of custom container and modular building projects, we noticed something. Clients came to us for custom container designs that weren’t actually “custom”. They were the same sort of building types used over and over with a few minor tweaks. Whether it was a Bar, Retail unit, Restroom building,a kitchen, an Office, or some residential building, each building type had the same design elements. And since it was a new client, we had to go through the process of redrawing and copying information from previous projects, just to give them drawings for a container building that we’ve already designed and built a dozen times. This took a lot of time and effort. Not to mention it was expensive for the client. The design process could take anywhere from 4 weeks to 3 months for a simple shipping container building and cost thousands of dollars for a drawing set.

We knew this process was cost and labor intensive, so we started our own process. We took the best elements of each building and standardized it. At Container Plans™, we offer different shipping container building plans based on buildings that we’ve designed, built, and have seen successfully operated for many years. These are full construction documents, specs, 3D models, construction images, and cost estimate spreadsheets for every component.
